Search Morgan County Court Dockets

A Morgan County court docket is the public event list for a Utah case, often called a case history or extended case history in the state system. It can connect a filing to later hearings, orders, and the final disposition. To search the Morgan County court docket, first identify whether the matter belongs in District Court or Justice Court. The right route may be a public statewide search, a court calendar, a party account, or direct help from the clerk. Morgan County docket access also includes counter inspection, a courthouse terminal, phone and email contact, and a written records request when the online summary is not enough.

Morgan County Xchange Search Fields

There is more to Xchange than a name box. Its official search help lists ways to narrow a Morgan County docket search before you run it. That matters. The current guest transaction allows up to ten searches, and each click counts. Results cap at 500. A broad statewide query can bury the record you actually want.

The official Morgan County court hub gathers District, Justice, and Juvenile contacts on one page.

Morgan County court docket court hub and contacts

That county hub drives home the first task: know which court holds the file before you call a clerk. The county page points you to the right office, while Xchange supplies the public case history.

Note: A payment search is not a Morgan County court docket search, and it may return nothing when no balance is due.

What a Morgan County Court Docket Shows

In Xchange, a Morgan County court docket shows up as a case history or extended case history. Each result row lists county, court location, case type, case number, filing date, public party details, and party code. Open the history. You may see events, minute entries, settings, orders, judgments, charges, pleas, dispositions, and accounting. A Purchase link means a public document is for sale. An event without that link can still be valid. No image can be bought online for it.

Case NumberIdentifies the file; add court location because numbers are not unique statewide.
PartiesShows public names and role codes such as PLA, DEF, PET, or RES.
Case EventsLists filings, hearings, minutes, orders, and other court steps.
SettingsCan show date, time, type, court, judge, and hearing mode.
Charge and PleaSeparates an allegation from a plea and later disposition.
DispositionRecords an adjudicated result or judgment date.

Keep in mind what a docket is not. It is an index and event trail, not the whole file. The complaint, motion, order, or judgment sits behind each entry as a separate document. A certified copy carries clerk certification and costs more. Transcripts and hearing audio are different records again. These distinctions matter when you track your own case or need an official order.

Morgan County Docket Terms Decoded

A few Utah labels make Morgan County court records easier to read. A role code tells you how someone takes part. A setting label tells you what kind of hearing is planned. Neither one tells you who won. Read criminal entries in order. The charge, the plea, and the disposition are separate facts.

Extended case history
The case-number view with added event and minute detail.
Setting

Minute entry

Disposition

Public data can be redacted. Utah rules shield Social Security numbers, account numbers, driver-license data, minors, and nonparty contact details. Domestic records may blend public history with private filings. A short public entry does not mean the clerk holds nothing more.

Which Morgan County Courts Keep Dockets

Docket custody follows the court, not one county records office. Second District staff keep the district files. Justice Court clerk Christina Arbogast holds the lower-court history. Juvenile staff work in a restricted system. The Morgan County Clerk/Auditor handles administrative work, not Utah court cases, even though the offices share a civic address.

Finding Morgan County Court Dates and Settings

A Morgan County court date can surface in a few places. No single one tells the whole story. Xchange logs each case event. For current settings in the Morgan District and Justice Courts, use Utah Court Calendars. It is the official listing. When two sources disagree, the clerk or the judge's team settles it. They control the schedule. A calendar card may list the date, time, courtroom, officer, setting type, case number, case type, and whether the hearing is virtual, in-person, or hybrid.

Justice Court convenes Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m., skipping fifth Tuesdays and holidays. Check-in runs from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. in room 4. The clerk has to place a matter on the calendar first. District settings sometimes show Morgan and sometimes Ogden as the physical site. Read the card in full before you drive anywhere.

After any reset, pull the case history and the calendar again. Then call the number on your notice. A saved calendar goes stale fast. One missing result does not mean a hearing was canceled. The Morgan County Court Calendar walks through the full lookup process.

Morgan County Docket Access Gaps

A Morgan County court docket may not come up. An official restriction is often the reason. Juvenile delinquency and child-welfare cases sit outside public Xchange. So do adoptions, civil mental-health commitments, expunged cases, and sealed records. Some domestic and guardianship material stays private even where selected history or orders remain public. Older Justice Court matters from before the CORIS conversion can be incomplete.

Before assuming a case is sealed, check your court level and try name wildcards. Add Morgan County, because case numbers are not unique statewide. New citations also take time to appear. Still nothing? Call the clerk, ask about a courthouse terminal, or send a written request naming the exact case and record. Anyone seeking nonpublic material must be authorized. They must explain the right of access and provide the required identification.

Missing is not nonexistent. Restricted status, filing delay, an old unconverted case, or the wrong court can all yield an empty search.

Note: To correct an entry in a filed Morgan County case, court staff are the authoritative contact.

Public Access to Morgan County Court Dockets

Utah court records answer to the Code of Judicial Administration. The county's general records route does not govern them. Those rules presume a record is public. Another rule or an order must classify it otherwise. Anyone may inspect a public court record. A written request normally goes to the clerk holding the Morgan County case.

Key Rules:

UCJA Rule 4-202.02 defines public and restricted classes.

UCJA Rule 4-202.03 grants access to public records while limiting sealed and juvenile material.

UCJA Rule 4-202.04 governs written requests and proof of entitlement.

UCJA Rule 4-202.07 allows specified written appeals within 30 days.

A mixed record should be released in part. That applies whenever the public details can be separated out. The court will not build a new report for you. Ask instead for an existing item. The case history, an order, a judgment, or a dated filing all count. A carefully stated request is far easier for the clerk to locate.

Morgan County Docket Fee Choices

The cheapest route depends on what you actually need. Public inspection costs nothing. Under the current court-record fee rule, a guest Xchange transaction runs $10 for up to ten searches, and a public document costs $1. Plain copies, certification, audio, mail, and staff research each carry separate rates.

RouteCharge
Public inspectionNo fee
Xchange guest transaction$10 for up to 10 searches
Xchange document$1 each
Paper copy$0.25 per sheet
Certified copy$4 plus $0.50 per page
Exemplified copy$6 plus $0.50 per page

Delivery by fax or email costs $5 for ten pages or less, then 50 cents per added page. Xchange records generally are not sent that way. Mail adds actual cost. Staff time past the first 15 minutes may also be charged. A qualified requester can seek a supported fee waiver.

The Morgan County Clerk and Docket Records

Second District staff hold the district files. They can fix an error or explain how to reach an older file. They also take a specific request and prepare certification. Christina Arbogast handles that work for Justice Court. The right office follows the court named on the citation, order, or result.

Say the court and the case number. Add the document name or date, and the format you want. The Utah Courts request instructions allow a usual ten-business-day response. Access can mean counter inspection, mail, email, fax if accepted, or direct clerk contact. Confirm fax details first, because official Morgan pages conflict on that point.

Morgan County District Docket Numbers

Court type matters. The official FY2023 statistics show why. Morgan District Court recorded 453 filings and 404 dispositions. That is an 89 percent clearance rate. Those figures describe workload only. They say nothing about any case's merits or its likely result. Civil, criminal, domestic, probate, property, tort, eviction, and judgment categories each produce different docket entries.

453District filings
404District dispositions

Filings split across several lanes. District Court counted 89 criminal, 55 domestic, 108 general civil, and 25 probate filings. Judgment entries add real bulk. Pick a case type only when you are sure. A category set too narrow can hide the Morgan County record you actually want.

Justice Court tells a different story. Its FY2022 row lists 196 misdemeanor and 12 small-claims filings. Traffic and parking work sits on top of that. Those cases sit with Justice Court, not with the District Court totals above.

Court Dockets by City in Morgan County

Morgan City is the county's only incorporated city. The 2020 Census place table counts 4,071 residents. Mountain Green, Peterson, Milton, Enterprise, Stoddard, Richville, Porterville, Croydon, Lost Creek, and East Canyon are communities, not separate incorporated-city court systems. So the city list is one card, not five.

The former Morgan City Justice Court was dissolved effective September 1, 2011. Morgan County absorbed its caseload. Do not assume a separate city portal exists. Read the court field on the citation. Traffic, ordinance, lower criminal, and small-claims matters may land in Justice Court, and district-level cases go to Second District Court. The Justice Court services page posts the county-centered schedule and the accepted payment channels.

Morgan County Docket System Timeline

Morgan County's docket setup took shape in layers over decades. Utah CORIS sat behind Xchange as the source of court records. Most district courts were on board by the end of 1998, while Justice Court dates varied from court to court. By 2011, Judicial Council records say, every case in Utah ran under one system. That same year Morgan City dissolved its court, and the County Justice Court took over the former city cases as the key local route.

Change kept coming. In 2013 the Morgan District courthouse shifted from contract staffing to state management. Remote Xchange access grew in 2022. The systems still split the work: Xchange holds the public case history, MyCourtCase serves parties to a case, eFile Utah handles filings, calendars list hearing settings, ePayments covers sums due, and weekly or judgment reports pull extracts.

One more shift is queued up. Utah lawmakers ordered a single court-record website, effective January 1, 2027. In September 2026 it was not yet Morgan County's working tool. Until the switch lands, stick with the current channels: Xchange, the calendars, the clerk's office, courthouse terminals, and written requests.
